Just a word of warning, in my town the date is actually October 7th, although everything you find on line says it will take place in September.
OCTOBER
SECOND MONDAY (ALL DAY)
EXPLORER'S DAY
There aren't any specific festivities. The day (and the conversations you will have) revolve around exploration. Find the mayor to get yourself a special memento: a Bottled Ship you can display in your house.
15 - 25 (8:00 AM)
MUSHROOM HUNT
You have to wake up early to snag mushrooms that you can sell for a pretty penny at Tom Nook's store. Five mushrooms appear in your town every morning at 8:00 am. If you wait too long, other townsfolk will find them before you, so start right away and grab them all.
16 (STORE HOURS)
HALLOWEEN CANDY ON SALE
Once October 16 rolls around, you'll be able to buy Halloween Candy at Tom Nook's store. Be sure to stock up and get ready for the 31st!
31 (6:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
HALLOWEEN
Everyone in town will dress up as Jack Pumpkin starting 6:00 pm in the evening. Bring candy. When you explore your town after this hour, the dressed-up villagers will come running after you. If they catch you, they'll ask you for candy. There are two things you can do: give them candy and they'll let you pass (if you leave the screen and come back, they'll chase you again). If you don't give them candy, they'll turn one of the items in your inventory into a jack-in-the-box or jack-o-lantern -- or they'll turn your clothes into rags. If you want these items for your collection, bring things you don't mind getting transformed (as well as your worst clothes).
There are two goals for you on Halloween:
1. First, find the mayor at the wishing well. He will give you Katrina's Tent as a miniature model for your town.
2. Find the real Jack. Jack is the only pumpkin-headed fellow that won't run after you. Make sure that you have candy in your inventory and talk to him once you've discovered him. He will give you one of the following pieces of furniture:
* Spooky Bed
* Spooky Bookcase
* Spooky Chair
* Spooky Clock
* Spooky Dresser
* Spooky Lamp
* Spooky Sofa
* Spooky Table
* Spooky Vanity
* Spooky Wardrobe
* Spooky Carpet
* Spooky Wall
If you want to collect them all, leave the area with Jack and find him again (he'll be in a completely different spot) to receive the next piece of furniture. Get all furniture of the Spooky theme to get a great HRA rating. One of the best strategies to carry candy without risking having to give it up to villagers is to attach it to letters. So if you're low on candy, attach it to letters and tell the trick-or-treaters that you don't have anything.
NOVEMBER
*This is your last chance to catch a Barred Knifejaw, Guppy or a Sea Bass until April, so do some fishing in your free time as well.
EVERY SUNDAY (ALL DAY)
FALL FISHING TOURNAMENT
The only fish you're allowed to submit in these are bass (small, regular and large - sea bass don't count). Go talk to Chip the beaver by your town's lake and get started! The smartest thing you can do if start early and go from small to large - each time your fish breaks a record, you get another prize! When you're done, find Tortimer so you can receive the Angler Trophy!
FIRST TUESDAY (ALL DAY)
MAYOR'S DAY
Talk to Tortimer at the wishing well to receive the Well Model.
11
OFFICER'S DAY
Time to commemorate two lovely servants of your town: Copper and Booker, the police dogs. Talk to Tortimer at the wishing well to receive the Police Model for your miniature town set.
FOURTH THURSDAY (3:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
HARVEST FESTIVAL
The Thanksgiving-like Harvest Festival takes place on the fourth Thursday of the month from 3:00 pm onward. Head to the wishing well to see the villagers feast and talk to Tortimer to receive the commemorative Cornucopia item.
But that's not all!!!! The Harvest Festival's special guest, a turkey named Franklin is hiding somewhere in town. Find him (he may be hiding behind an object, so search everywhere) and talk to him to find out how you can help him. After your poultry encounter, head back to the wishing well and swipe the knife and fork from the banquet table. Head back to Franklin and he will reward you with a piece of Harvest-themed furniture. The full list:
* Harvest Bed
* Harvest Bureau
* Harvest Chair
* Harvest Clock
* Harvest Dresser
* Harvest Lamp
* Harvest Mirror
* Harvest Sofa
* Harvest Table
* Harvest TV
* Harvest Rug
* Harvest Wall
You can repeat this process as many times as you want to collect all pieces of furniture. Display them all to get a great HRA rating.
DAY AFTER HARVEST DAY (STORE HOURS)
SALE DAY
Save up for this day! You can get some great items for low prices the day after Harvest Day. Tom Nook will sell special grab bags (the kind you got when you started your very first game -- if you used the included Memory Card). Each grab bag contains multiple items. Buy as many as you can, then open them one by one. Note that you cannot open grab bags while you're indoors -- and you need multiple open slots in your inventory.
Crazy Redd is also having his own special brand of sale on the same day. Look for his Black Market tent and see if he's got something you want.
Finally, find Tortimer by the wishing well to receive the Market Model.
DECEMBER
1 (ALL DAY)
SNOW DAY
I designate this town the funnest day of the year! Okay, maybe not, but you can at least be sure that your town is covered with a thick blanket of snow by now.
Meet up with Tortimer to receive a Snowman to display in your home.
23 (ALL DAY)
TOY DAY
Find Tortimer at the wishing well to get a Miniature Car (if your character is male) or a Doll (if you're a girl).
24 (8:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
JINGLE!
This Santa Claus-like reindeer will only appear in the evening hours on the 24th of December. Find Jingle somewhere in your town and talk to him repeatedly until he gives you a piece of furniture (from the Jingle series). Here's what you can get:
* Jingle Bed
* Jingle Carpet
* Jingle Chair
* Jingle Clock
* Jingle Dresser
* Jingle Lamp
* Jingle Piano
* Jingle Shelves
* Jingle Shirt
* Jingle Sofa
* Jingle Table
* Jingle Wall
* Jingle Wardrobe
And guess what, there's also a trick to get more than one item out of Jingle! All those different types of clothing you've been keeping will finally come in handy! Leave the acre, wear something different and go through the same spiel again. Jingle will think you're a different person and give you another piece of furniture. Display them all for a great HRA rating.
31 (11:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
NEW YEAR'S EVE
It's the end of the year, as you know it! Head to the lake and celebrate with your animal friends. You can watch the fireworks and see a clock board count down the final hour. Talk to Tortimer to get your hands on the Noisemaker.
*** Date that you enter: Birthday ***
At some point, one of the town animals will ask you for your birthday, which you can then enter.
Assuming you've had a chance to tell one of the animals your birthday, this is the day that you get presents. In the mail you'll get a card from your mother with a birthday cake. Nook won't buy it for anything, and you can't eat it, so, what you do with it is up to you. You'll also get a bunch of other letters from animals in your town with birthday greetings and small gifts attached. One animal should stop by your house and give you a Donkey Kong NES game as well.
